Bentonite Clay & Psyllium Husk Shake Recipe

As regular fasters have grown to realise, a good cleansing program should always include removing built up waste in your colon – the last portion of the food processing chain. Attempting to clean the liver, blood, or lymphatic system without addressing the bowel, often loaded with waste products, means that the excreted toxins will only get recycled back into your body.

Fasting, in general, can enhance colon activity, as a break from food allows the whole intestinal tract to rest, giving our organs an enhanced opportunity for rejuvenation and healing. The preferred time to cleanse the colon is usually before, during, or after a fast, depending on the type of fast you are doing. A colonic certainly assists the process, as do enemas, but if neither of these are something you are comfortable with, sticking to the cleanse for a longer period of time may be helpful to ensure you reap the full benefits.

One of the reasons we have such an excess build up of waste stored in the colon is due to our compromised food choices and eating habits, reducing the effectiveness of the body’s own ability to efficiently eliminate waste. As the waste matter does not move through the colon as efficiently as necessary, it then becomes dehydrated and hardened, forming a thick and sticky mass that interferes with the body’s ability to eliminate unwanted, undigested foods. This mass can then go on to accumulate unwanted bacteria, toxins and even parasites. It also obstructs the ability of the digestive fluids from the liver and pancreas to be accessed, which can ultimately contribute to digestive issues.

Recipe for shake    –  Video below

1 heaped teaspoon of psyllium husks
1 tablespoon of bentonite clay
Water or juice to mix

Place the psyllium and bentonite clay in a shaker or plastic container with a lid, add the fluid and shake vigorously until the clay dissolves.
You will need to drink this quickly as the psyllium husks thicken quickly and begin to coagulate. Keep drinking as much fluid as you can afterwards as the psyllium draws water from the colon.

Once the bowel is cleaner, you will be able to absorb more nutrients from your food, many also report to have more energy and an improved sense of well-being.
